I was working on a Silverlight 4 app this week and i reliazed i needed to grab the height of a row in a standard Sl grid.

You can put a x:Name on the row definition like so in order to work with it in the code behind:

<RowDefinition Height="0.92*" x:Name="MainContentRow" />

Now you can use it like this:

dh = MainContentRow.ActualHeight;

This makes it easy to grab a row and then gets its height for instance.
